Portugal and Brazil will renew an old rivalry when they meet in a friendly match at Gillette Stadium on Tuesday night.

Brazil vs Portugal comes up on September 10, 2013 in USA.Preview: Portuguese and Brazilian fans will fill Gillete Stadium to see their idols

When you hear of a meeting between Portugal and Brazil, you would instantly think of a battle between two football superstars. Whether you are a fan of Cristiano Ronaldo, Neymar, or both, they have both earned their spot at the top of world football's list of great stars.

On Tuesday night, both countries will meet at Gillette Stadium in Foxboro, Ma. Due to the large amount of Portuguese and Brazilian fans living in the surrounding areas, this match is expected to have a near full to capacity attendance.

One frustration for Portugal fans will be the exclusion of Ronaldo from the team due to injury, after the Real Madrid star netted a hattrick against Northern Ireland on Friday.

Had the Portuguese captain not come to the rescue, Portugal could have been in a very difficult spot right now, in reagards to their World Cup aspirations.

After going down 2-1 in the match, fans at Windsor Park were beside themselves with excitement. Fortunately for Paulo Bento, Portugal's new all time leading scorer found the back of the net on three ocassions, propeling the Lusitanos back into the top spot in Group F.

Brazil will arrive in Foxboro having defeated Australia 6-0, in a match that the Aussie's did not stand a chance.

Real Madrid's Marcelo and Barcelona's Dani Alves will not feature in Tuesday's match, but the Seleção will have enough depth in their squad to find proper replacements for both. Roma's Maicon is a likely candidate to jump into the starting XI, while Felipão could also need to find a replacement for Hulk, who may miss out due to a thigh injury.

Although this match has no meaning, when Portugal and Brazil meet, it is not always the friendliest of matches. With a stadium full of passionate fans who rarely get to see their nation travel to this part of the world, they will be wanting to see a positive performance from all the players involved.

The stadium will be colored in red, green and yellow, with every touch of the ball being treated as if it were the last. Aside from the result and given the amount of talent that will be on display, hopefully the players will be able to leave a good image in their visit to the New England area.
