Cristiano Ronaldo has been Real Madrid's star man this summer.Preview: Real Madrid reaching their peak

Under Carlo Ancelotti, Real Madrid seem to have found happiness and unity – in the dressing room like on the pitch. Isco commented on the homogeneity of the team’s play, stating:

“The boss wants us to have the ball and have freedom and creativity on the pitch. I think that we’re going to see a really beautiful Real Madrid this season.”

Los Blancos are fresh from their 2013 International Champions Cup triumph where they showcased stability with Cristiano Ronaldo at the centre of the play. The Portuguese winger, who is among the three-man shortlist for this year’s UEFA Best Player award, is reportedly on the brink of signing a new deal at Real Madrid. This should offer his side a psychological boost.

This summer, Real have inscribed only positive results – winning five of their six friendly matches. Even their draw against Olympique Lyon was encouraging, considering the fact that they came from two goals down to avoid defeat.

Meanwhile, Internazionale are not what they were years ago. The days of Jose Mourinho and Wesley Sneijder are long gone. The Nerazzurri have been forced to live in the shadow of Juventus and city rivals Milan. In playing Real Madrid, new Inter coach Walter Mazzarri will have a great opportunity to test his team’s strength.
