The 2013 International Champions Cup final looms in the horizon for Los Blancos. Everton vs Real Madrid is the biggest match on the menu tonight. Watch this friendly contest in USA live.

Cristiano Ronaldo under the spotlight ahead of Everton vs Real Madrid in the International Champions Cup.Preview: Focus on Cristiano Ronaldo as new-look Real Madrid take shape

The Portuguese international is familiar with English sides thanks to his experience in the Premier League. Although this is just a friendly contest, Cristiano Ronaldo is expected to step up his game and shine against Everton.

Since opening the scoring of the Ancelotti era with a sublime free-kick against Bournemouth, the 28-year-old is yet to add to his tally. The star winger has been tasked by his coach to find his preferred position on the pitch, following the squad’s transformation during the current transfer window.

While Ronaldo continues to adjust to Real Madrid’s new attacking plans, the team has received a boost in defence with the likes of Iker Casillas, Alvaro Arbeloa and Marcelo ready to perform for the first time this pre-season. Meanwhile, Spain U-20’s Jese will open his professional career. The youngster has been tipped to become a sensation at the Santiago Bernabeu during the 2013/14 season.

Despite Los Blancos’ good form this summer, the International Champions Cup semi-final match against Everton may not be a walk in the park. The Toffees are buzzing from their stunning penalty shoot-out victory over Juventus on Matchday 1. Before participating in this American-based competition, Roberto Martinez’s side inscribed resounding victories against Accrington Stanley and Blackburn Rovers. They won 4-1 and 3-1 respectively.

Life after David Moyes is good so far for Everton. Upsetting reigning Spanish Super Cup champions Real Madrid would be a sweet achievement for the Toffees. The latter lost 6-1 in their only meeting in history with Los Blancos. That was in the 1987 Santiago Bernabeu Trophy, during the playing days of Real Madrid’s Hugo Sanchez and Butragueno.

The winner of tonight's encounter will face either Milan or Chelsea in the 2013 International Champions Cup final. Of course, pundits are predicting a reunion between Jose Mourinho and Ronaldo's Blancos.
