Radical changes are taking place at Bayern Munich despite the team being already so strong. This could lead to a few players heading for the exit door.
Coming on the back of a treble winning season, Bayern Munich fans are understandably in buoyant spirits. However, it is quite strange to see that the arrival of Pep Guardiola at the helm has seen a lot of changes made to the squad already. Some of the players, who played such an integral part in a fantastic last season for the Bavarians, could leave Allianz Arena this summer.

Guardiola is keen on imposing his style of play and philosophy to the team, something that a few players might not agree to and thus would seek pastures new just like Mario Gomez who will now play for Italian Serie A entertainers, Fiorentina.

Luiz Gustavo

The Brazil international had a great season with the Bavarians last season despite the fact that Martinez’s arrival at the club limited the 26 year old’s appearances to only 24 last season in all competitions.

If he chooses to stay at the club, Gustavo will have to fight for a place in the starting eleven with the likes of Javi Martinez, Bastian Schweinsteiger and even Thiago Alcantara. In recent weeks, the player has been hotly linked with a move to VfL Wolfsburg, owned by Volkswagen whose boss Martin Winterkorn, happens to be a Bayern board member as well.

Winterkorn was recently quoted as saying: "If a player like him is on the market, you have to be after him."

Emre Can

At the age of 19, it is important for Emre Can to play regular football in the Bundesliga. However, game-time will be a luxury for him next season as it is unlikely to see him push the senior place for a starting berth due to his tender age. Clubs from Germany, England and Turkey have enquired about the youngster who is under contract until 2014

Diego Contento

After playing second fiddle to Philippe Lahm for the last two seasons, Diego Contento is also itching for a new hunting ground. Last season, the left back played just eight games for the club. Werder Bremen are apparently keen on signing him and it is very likely to see the player leave the club without much of a sob.

Moreover, with Lukas Schmitz set to miss a major chunk of next season due to injury, Bremen would not be against the idea of signing a player who despite not playing very often, has the potential to play week in week out in the Bundesliga.

Xherdan Shaqiri

The young Swiss moved to Bayern Munich last summer from FC Basel but despite showing his potential last season whenever given the chance, will struggle to stamp his authority in the starting eleven. And with Mario Gotze in the squad, it remains to be seen what becomes of Shaqiri who could be forced out of the club which might not be a bad idea as a player of his potential, needs to play regular football.
