The Mourinho factor could prove crucial to the Blues, and now news of Wayne Rooney on his way to Stamford Bridge?

Chelsea 2013-14 Season Review

Season Start: August 18, 2013
Season End:
May 11, 2014

Chelsea fans have so much to look forward to this football year.  With the Special One returning to his old stomping ground both Roman Abramovich and the Chelsea faithful will be expecting to see a shiny cabinet of silverware by Matchday 38.

Mourinho’s style has been witnessed around Europe. However, the Premier League is a completely different prospect from Jose’s first era.

The new season will test the Portuguese coach from the off with a monumental fixture to his second favourite ground in the UK as the Blues visit Old Trafford.  Times have changed at Manchester United and the former Internazionale and Real Madrid boss will be looking to build a similar relationship with David Moyes as to the one he had with Sir Alex Ferguson. Watch out for a healthy competition created by Mou's mind games in 2013/14.

Chelsea will have plenty of London derbies to look forward to with four contests in March 2014 before a relatively straight forward run of fixtures up until the final whistle of the season.

Expect further changes at the Bridge - such as the possible arrival of Wayne Rooney. As of the pre-season, things are looking good for Chelsea fans.
