There is no better way for new channel FOX Sports 1 to start its international football broadcast than by airing the USWNT’s friendly at home to Mexico on Tuesday, September 3, 2013.

Megan Rapinoe and Alex Morgan are expected to face Mexico in September.USA vs Mexico can be seen as the icing on the cake of this summer’s exciting National Women’s Soccer League championship. The match will take place at the RFK Stadium in Washington D.C. where the hosts last won 6-2 over Canada; that was in May 2008. USA vs Mexico should be available at 20:00 ET to over 90 million American homes following the launch of FOX Sports 1 on August 17, 2013.

U.S. coach Tom Sermanni revealed his eagerness at taking part in this scheduled friendly match which will feature several NWSL names. He declared:

“This event will only bring the players together for a few days, but as always, we relish the opportunity to play an international match.

“Many of the U.S. and Mexican players will be coming right out of their club seasons, so everyone should be fit. We know we will probably face Mexico in World Cup qualifying so it's good to see them before that tournament. It's also a positive to get in a match before we give our players a bit of a break in advance of the rest of our fall activity.”

The last time USA and Mexico met was on January 24, 2012. The U.S. Women’s National Soccer Team ran away with a 4-0 victory thanks to a first-time hat-trick by Carli Lloyd and a strike by Heather O’Reilly. This CONCACAF Olympic Qualifying Tournament fixture was the prelude of their London 2012 triumph.

Closer to the encounter in September 2013, LiveSoccerTV.com will have full live stream and TV schedules info.
