Manchester City forward Sergio Aguero has claimed, that the Etihad side can still beat favourites Manchester United to the title. The Argentinean has urged his teammates to show the same spirit which led them to a title victory last season.
United’s noisy neighbours City, are currently trailing by 12 points to the leaders who show no sign of throwing away the title like they did last season. Aguero himself accepts the fact, that the current situation makes it very difficult for them to win the Premier League crown.

Whereas Roberto Mancini’s men have been on a very inconsistent run, having uselessly dropped points, their rivals Manchester United have shown no mercy. The side have not lost a single match in the league, in the last three months. Their last defeat surprisingly came at the hands of struggling Reading, who beat the Red Devils at the Madejski Stadium.

Since then the legendary Scot Alex Ferguson has had his men focused on their objectives, the United side have show the consistency and the hunger which is needed to win the title.

City on the other have been less than inspiring in their title quest, they will now need a miracle to win the title which seems very unlikely. City not just have to win all their matches, they should also expect United to lose three matches or more before they can finally earn a shot.

But with United’s key men picking up form at the right time this seems very unlikely. Led by their number 20, Dutch striker Robin Van Persie has been impeccable, he has carried his brilliant form from last season and has helped his side towards their title pursuit, scoring 19 goals in 24 appearances and also assisting seven.
His partner in crime Wayne Rooney who had a slow start to the season,in terms of goals is back to his best and has scored important goals for Manchester United recently.

City’s main men on the other hand have experienced a dip in form, especially Sergio Aguero who only has nine goals in 23 appearances. His international teammate Carlos Tevez has also seen a goal drought, his goal against Chelsea last weekend was his first in three months.

The win against Chelsea and especially the manner in which they won, has really inspired the City side to try to challenge for the title again. They would be hoping for a repeat of last season, when they were able to take advantage of United dropping points and clinched the crown on the last day. But with the current United side and the form they are in, is there any chance of City beating their arch nemesis to the title?
