Man Utd need a victory to avoid an early exit from the 2009-10 Champions League edition as they host Bayern Munchen at Old Trafford.

TORONTO (April 5, 2010) – Manchester United host Bayern Munich in a do-or-die match for the Red Devils in UEFA Champions League quarter final second leg action  Wednesday, April 7 at 2:45 p.m. ET/ 11:45 a.m. PT live on Setanta Sports.

Setanta also has live and exclusive coverage of the second leg between home side CSKA Moscow and visiting Inter Milan Tuesday, April 6 at 12:15 p.m. ET/ 9:15 a.m. PT.

Manchester United is trying to avoid their earliest Champions League exit since they failed to advance past the Group Stage of the 2005-06 competition. The following season the Red Devils made it to the semi final before losing to eventual champions AC Milan. The club has been a finalist in each of the last two seasons, winning it all in 2008 and losing the 2009 final to Barcelona.

Wayne Rooney, injured in the 2-1 first leg loss in Munich last week, will be unavailable to Manchester United in the return match at Old Trafford. Rooney joins fellow injured striker Michael Owen on the sidelines. Rooney and Owen lead all Manchester United players in Champions League goals this season with five and four respectively.  Enigmatic striker Dimitar Berbatov will be leaned on to fill the void for United in Rooney’s absence. The 29-year-old Bulgarian national, who has 12 goals in 20 domestic league appearances, has yet to score in this season’s Champions League.

Bayern Munich look to become the first German club to reach the UEFA Champions League semi finals since Bayer Leverkusen were runner-up to 2001-02 champions Real Madrid. Bayern last reached the final in 2001 when they needed penalties to defeat Valencia for their fourth European Cup title and first under the new Champions League format.

The other live match on Setanta features Inter Milan at Moscow to take on CSKA Moscow. The Italian side carries a tenuous 1-0 aggregate lead after a win last week in the opening leg at their home pitch Stadio Giuseppe Meazza. Inter have reached the semi finals of the European club championship seven times but their last trip to the final four came in 2003. They last reached the final in 1972 when they captured the second of their two titles.
