Brazilian star Neymar has been involved in one of the most prolonged transfer sagas, his destination continues to be a mystery. But here is a list of 4 clubs he should not go to:
1) Barcelona

The Catalan club seem to be very keen on securing the Brazilian wonder kid, Barcelona’s limited spending on transfers this year suggests that a notable chunk of the transfer budget has been saved for next season.

However does Barcelona really need Neymar?

Barcelona already have David Villa, Pedro, Alexis Sanchez, Messi and Cristian Tello playing upfront, whereas the talented Gerard Deulofeu has been relishing a chance of playing in the first team after some impressive performances for Barcelona B. Barcelona are a team known for promoting players from their own academy. Their last high profile signing was of Zlatan Ibrahimovic who is a player of incredible quality but was not able to cement his place in the starting line up. Neymar should thus look into his options more closely before moving to the Catalan Club.

2) Real Madrid

Another Brazilian who comes in mind when speaking of Neymar, is former Santos striker Robinho. The forward who currently plays his trade at AC Milan was surrounded by a similar hype back in his days at Santos, after an impressive display for the Brazilian club he made his move to Real Madrid. Robinho has been on the move ever since then, after falling out with the Los Blancos over a contract issue Robinho moved to high spending Manchester City.

After an injury plagued second season the Brazilian made a loan move to Santos after which he headed off to Italy to play for AC Milan. Currently he has been heavily linked to a move back to Brazil, with Corinthians being the likely destination.

Neymar and Robinho are very similar in many aspects, Neymar should thus closely analyse before making the next and probably the biggest step in his football career to not follow the same path Robinho did.

3) Manchester United

It is true that Neymar has quick feet, is amazing on the ball and scores terrific goals. But do United really need another goal scorer? They already have one of the most lethal attack forces in the world headed by the likes of Rooney, Van Persie and Hernandez. Thus a goal scorer is not really what Manchester United need. Neither does Neymar come under the bracket of a physical striker, it will be thus very difficult for him to adjust to the physical needs of the league. There are also doubts over Neymar’s work rate. Can he drop to help defend when his team is under attack like Rooney does? Or constantly run around the pitch like Hernandez does? All in all Manchester United and Neymar is definitely not a match made in heaven.

4) Paris Saint Germain

Another club hoping to sign the Brazilian forward is French outfit PSG. PSG do have the financial means to keep the player satisfied, but the Brazilian will be surrounded by a lot of egos which might hinder his progress. Given his own egoistic nature, it will not be beneficial for Neymar to be teammates with the likes of Ibrahimovic or Menez. Now is definitely not the right time for Neymar to move to PSG.

With many clubs closely monitoring the Brazilian starlet, Neymar has a lot of options to choose from. Reports have been emerging, that Pep Guardiola has already made him his top transfer target for Bayern Munich next season. Neymar is likely to have a bright future ahead of him, but he must play his cards wisely if he is to have a future he deserves. To secure his future, he should further polish his attitude and his skills before he can play for a high profile club. It might be best for him to stay at Santos for the time being, before he can make his move to one of Europe’s elite clubs.
