The England International has struggled with injuries, but his performance against Swansea on Wednesday night gives Arsenal and English Football a glimmer of hope.

Jack Wilshere has been highly regarded at Arsenal for quite some time now. Since his time in the lower ranks of the club, Wilshere has been a stand out player in the center of the park.

A loan spell at Bolton appears to have been just what the 21 year-old needed. Since returning to Arsene Wenger's side, Wilshere was beginning to stand out, but a long list of consecutive injuries kept him out for a significant amount of time.

Back in the first team at the Emirates, Wilshere has slowly started to show that old Arsenal mentality. A very young player who shows in his body language how much he wants to win. His anger with every bad pass or every bad decision is more than evident in every match he takes part in.

His desire to always win and carry his Arsenal forward is something that sets him aside from the rest of the Arsenal players.

Having been at Arsenal for so long, Wilshere not only knows what is expected of him and his teammates, but he also knows a good amount about the very successful teams Arsene Wenger had the privilege to manage.

On Wednesday night at the Emirates, Arsenal fans and England fans may well have seen just a slight preview of what Jack Wilshere can bring to English Football, as well as Arsenal Football Club.

Fight, determination, incredible vision and outstanding decision making makes Wilshere an untouchable within Arsene Wenger's squad. When fully fit, their is no Arsenal player who can reproduce what the 21 year-old can.

He would constantly work back to help defend and he has no problem carrying the team forward. A number of great passes in the final third helped to setup a few chances for the Gunners, but unfortunately for them, good fortune wasn't on their side until Jack struck late in the match.

If Wilshere can stay healthy, he will quickly evolve into one of England's top central midfielder's. Some would argue that he may already be the best, but with time, Wilshere will undoubtedly confirm those opinions.

Watching him play brings back memories of former Arsenal midfielder Patrick Vieira. His fight in the midfield was like any other, while you could always count on him to help lift the spirits of the team when they needed it the most.

Although Thomas Vermaelen and Mikel Arteta are the current captains at Arsenal, it can be said that Jack Wilshere is the unassigned captain at the Emirates.
