Many of Europe’s top football talents travel to South Africa to compete in the 2013 CAF Africa Cup of Nations.

2013 AFCON live on British E50uroSport between January 19 and February 10, 2013.British Eurosport will broadcast LIVE high definition coverage of all 32 games from the 19th January – 10th February. 

Ivory Coast will boast a star-studded line-up and will again be among the favourites for the title. Among them include their all-time top scorer Didier Drogba now of Shanghai Shenhua. Joining him up-front will be Arsenal’s Gervinho, as well as Wigan’s Arouna Kone. In the heart of the midfield will be Manchester City’s Yaya Toure and Newcastle United’s Cheick Tiote. 

Ghana are likely to be one of the other stand-out performers, as they also possess players such as Al Ain forward Asamoah Gyan and Juventus midfielder Kwadwo Asamoah. Bristol City’s Albert Adomah will also be making his first appearance at the tournament. 

 

Two times winner Nigeria will call on the Chelsea duo of John Obi Mikel and Victor Moses to bolster their chances of success.

Samba Diakite of QPR, and Modibo Maiga of West Ham will join forces to give strengthen Mali’s chances. Youssouf Mulumbu (West Bromwich Albion) will line-up for Congo DR, while Tottenham’s Emmanuel Adebayor will be the main attacking threat for Togo.  

Last year’s tournament saw Zambia win their first Africa Cup of Nations title by beating tournament favourites Ivory Coast on penalties in dramatic style. After Drogba had missed a spot-kick in normal time, Zambia eventually edged the Elephants 8-7 in an amazing shoot-out.
