If the majority of people believe that Mario Balotelli is a troublesome player, Napoli’s Edison Cavani thinks differently. The prolific Uruguayan striker wishes to play alongside the Italian.

Manchester City transfer target Edison Cavani wishes to play with Manchester City's Mario Balotelli.Reports from England suggest that Manchester City seriously want to get rid of Mario Balotelli due to the player’s disciplinary record at the club. This week, agent Mino Raiola told Sky Sports 24 that “there is a 0,0001% possibility of Balotelli returning to Italy.”

However, Edison Cavani is hoping the father of new-born baby Pia Fico will land at Napoli as the January transfer window remains open.

“Nobody has the right to judge someone else. We all make mistakes. He's a great player in my opinion and I would love to play alongside him,” Cavani told the press before adding:

“Balotelli is a champion and has already shown what he can do. He has the quality to make people very happy.”

Meanwhile, Edison Cavani has attracted the attention of several clubs including Manchester City as Citizens assistant Angelo Gregucci confirmed in an interview with Radio CRC. He declared:

“Mancini decides the transfer targets along with the new directors. If you ask the clubs who can afford Cavani, for example Real Madrid, Bayern Munich and Manchester United, then I think they'd want Cavani just as Manchester City want him.”

A move for the Uruguayan forward however seems unlikely as the player is said to have a special bond with the fans and the city of Naples. City lost out to bitter rivals Manchester United in the race to sign top target Robin van Persie last summer. The Citizens continue to search as they are reportedly looking to strengthen their attack and end their romance with Balotelli.

Manchester City will play away to Arsenal in the English Premier League on Sunday. Roberto Mancini will likely not pick striker Mario Balotelli against whom he recently clashed during training.
