Boxing Day football will see all English Premier League teams – at the exception of Arsenal and West Ham – in action on December 26. The Gunners and the Hammers were scheduled to clash at the Emirates stadium on Wednesday but the match got postponed last week with a statement on Arsenal’s official website reading:
“As a result of Monday’s strike ballot and the proposed industrial action on London Underground on Boxing Day, Arsenal’s Premier League match against West Ham United at Emirates Stadium, originally planned for Wednesday, December 26, has been postponed.”
Seven other EPL matches will kick off simultaneously at the delight of fans across the globe. Norwich City will be looking to avoid a catastrophe against Chelsea after the latter destroyed Aston Villa 8-0 over the weekend.
Manchester United will finish the first half of the Premiership campaign as league leaders no matter what happens in their home game against Newcastle United. However, Manchester City will be aiming to close the four-point gap with victory away to Sunderland.
Tottenham Hotspur failed to hit the back of the net in their latest Premier League fixture but they might find enough space to prevail against the sorry Villains. Liverpool will close the action with a 14:45 EST kick-off at Stoke City.
