The stage is set for the very last round of fixtures in the UEFA Champions League. Several clubs do not have anything to play for as the 16 spots of the next stage are almost all taken. In some sections like Group A, B and F, the major thing at stake is the top spot as the third-placed team is certain of UEFA Europa League football.
Pundits will closely follow proceedings in Group E with Chelsea’s UEFA Champions League exit looking imminent. The titleholders must not only beat Nordsjaelland but also hope that Juventus lose against Shakhtar Donetsk.
One man in particular will be under scrutiny: Rafael Benitez. Roberto Di Matteo’s successor could very well be on his way out of the cub after managing two goalless draws and one loss in his first three matches.
