EPL Match Day 9 - Soccer TV listings printable guide
The drama that happened in the UEFA Champions League in midweek could greatly affect this weekend’s Barclays Premier League matches. None of the big clubs won apart from Manchester United. Talking about the Red Devils, they had to go through a real scare first as Sporting Braga took a 2-0 lead at Old Trafford before Chicharito completed a 3-2 comeback mission.
Local rivals Manchester City suffered a humiliating 3-1 loss away to Ajax, Arsenal got battered 2-0 at home to Schalke 04 while Chelsea conceded a 2-1 defeat against Shakhtar Donetsk in Ukraine. This weekend, the big match features UEFA Champions League titleholders Chelsea against English Premier League runners-up Manchester United at Stamford Bridge. The match, which is scheduled to take place on Sunday, will close the action of Matchday 9.
Also on Sunday is the Merseyside Derby as Liverpool travel to Everton. The latter are currently fourth in the EPL table and boast about a six-point advantage over twelfth-placed Liverpool. A day before, Premiership champions Manchester City will try to leapfrog Manchester United before Sunday’s top of the table clash at the Bridge. As for Arsenal, they will be looking to bounce back from two consecutive defeats – one of which was a shocking loss to Norwich City last weekend.
