After a great night of football on Tuesday, eight more games come your way today. The three big matches on Wednesday are Ajax vs Real Madrid, Arsenal vs Olympiakos Piraeus and Manchester City vs Borussia Dortmund. The clash at the Etihad Stadium is enormous. It features two league champions aiming to jump the UEFA Champions League’s group stages hurdle.
Man City nearly claimed a historic victory at the Santiago Bernabeu in their opening match but a stunning loss of concentration saw hosts Real Madrid overcome a 2-1 deficit in the very last moments. With a 3-2 defeat to overturn this Wednesday, Manchester City will be determined to use their home advantage against the Germans. Another English club hoping to win is Arsenal.
Unlike the Citizens, the Gunners started off their European campaign well with a comeback win against Montpellier. However, Arsene Wenger will be looking to address a few problems during the Gunners’ clash against Olympiakos Piraeus this Wednesday. Arsenal enter that match having to recover from last weekend’s home defeat to Chelsea in the English Premier League.
In other matches this Wednesday, French club Paris Saint-Germain and inexperienced UEFA Champions League contenders Malaga will come under the spotlight. Both teams won their respective fixture a fortnight ago. A second consecutive win would increase their momentum as the fight for Last 16 tickets continue.
