English Carling Cup champions Liverpool must spend another season out of the UEFA Champions League. However, in Europe’s second-tier club football competition, the Merseyside Reds could achieve continental cup glory again.
Two other English clubs looking to enjoy a successful Europa League campaign are Newcastle United and Tottenham Hotspur. Last season, the Magpies finished fifth in the EPL while Chelsea’s Champions League triumph meant fourth-placed Spurs had to settle for Europa League football. The presence of Inter and Atletico Madrid also adds a touch of greatness to the 2012/13 UEFA Europa League.
