Controversial legend Diego Maradona has added fire to the Cristiano Ronaldo vs Lionel Messi debate by declaring a landslide victory for La Pulga.
Many people believe that Cristiano Ronaldo is more complete than Messi. However, Diego Maradona is of the opinion that Messi’s dribbling skill kills off the contest against CR7.

Maradona, who was recently sacked by Dubai club Al Wasl, spoke to TVR. He claimed:

“Cristiano Ronaldo will never be of Messi's level. Lionel doesn't need Cristiano Ronaldo's powerful shot. Messi just dribbles towards the goal with the ball at his feet.

“When Cristiano Ronaldo won the Ballon d'Or he told Messi 'No more second places'. Now silver is the best he can achieve.”

Lionel Messi broke several records last season in all competitions. He finished the 2011/12 La Liga season as the top scorer.

However, his goals failed to guide Barcelona to glory as Real Madrid won the league with 100 points and 121 goals. 46 of those goals – one of which was a vital match winner against Barcelona at the Camp Nou – were scored by Cristiano Ronaldo.

Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo are set to meet again later in August as Copa del Rey winners Barcelona and La Liga champions Real Madrid will lock horns in the 2012 Supercopa de Espana.
