Transfer news from Croatia explains that Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Luka Modric is on his way to Real Madrid.
According to 24sata.hr, Real Madrid and Tottenham Hotspur have not agreed on a transfer fee yet. Spurs are reportedly asking for nothing less than £40M while Los Blancos do not want to surpass the £28M-price tag.

Despite arguments over the transfer fee, Real Madrid are looking to seal the deal within the next few days, it is believed. This would give Luka Modric the opportunity to integrate himself in Real Madrid’s squad ahead of the competitive 2012/13 football season.

“Everything has been resolved. Luka and Real Madrid agreed on everything,” a source close to the player stated according to Croatian website 24sata.hr.

“There is a little more difficulty with the position of Tottenham but everything will be solved and will be resolved quickly.”

Luka Modric was strongly linked to Chelsea last summer but a deal never materialized. Following Spurs’ failure to qualify for UEFA Champions League football, Modric has reportedly decided on quitting the club.

Luka Modric arrived at White Hart Lane in 2008 and made his competitive debut for the London club on August 16 that year in a game that ended 2-1 in favour of Middlesbrough. The star midfielder has featured in over 150 matches for Tottenham Hotspur since then.
