Germany meets Italy in a much anticipated Euro 2012 semi-final.
The winner will have the pleasure of fighting for the European Championship title against Spain who advanced to the final after edging out Portugal in a penalty shoot-out.
Both Germany and Italy had convincing victories in their quarter-final matches against Greece and England respectively.
And both teams have improved their team play from game to game. But it has been the Germans that have been more clinical in their finishing and such decisive details in their football leave them as the only team to have won all their games as well as booky favorites for this semi-final.
The last time these teams played in a competitive tournament takes us back to July 4th, 2006 for the World Cup semi-final. In that game, things didn't go so well for the Germans as Italy won in added extra time 2-0.
The Italians went on to win the World Cup that year over France.
