Manchester United were seconds away from winning the English Premier League title when Manchester City issued a dramatic comeback.

The 2011/12 English Premier League title goes to Manchester City.At Sunderland, Man United did their homework by recording a 1-0 victory thanks to Rooney’s lone goal but at the Etihad Stadium, Manchester City did the impossible. The Citizens netted 2 goals in injury time to turn around a 2-1 deficit against Queens Park Rangers.

The latter got reduced to ten men early in the second period as Joey Barton kicked Carlos Tevez with his elbow. With the numerical disadvantage, City became ultra-defensive.

However, the introduction of Armand Traore was the turning point in the game. Out of nowhere, Queens Park Rangers went 2-1 up inside the 66th minute.

Traore’s run down the left wing was vital in the build up to his team’s second goal. Djibril Cisse had previously equalized Zabaleta’s first-half opener.

The home crowd suffered under the effect of anxiety and disgust right until the 92nd minute when Edin Dzeko fired home a header. Still, at this point, the 2011/12 English Premier League title was going to the red side of Manchester.

Man City kept pressing forward and Sergio Aguero made the difference when it mattered most. The Argentine, whose form declined lately, scored the match winner and eventually silenced Manchester United’s millions of fans around the world.

The good news for Queens Park Rangers is that Bolton Wanderers drew 2-2 away to Stoke City. This means that QPR stay in the EPL while Bolton join Blackburn Rovers and Wolves out of the league.

Meanwhile, Arsenal emerged winners from a 5-goal thriller away to West Bromwich Albion. Benayoun, Santos and Koscielny got the goals. Spurs also won 2-0 at home to Fulham to finish in the top four zone. Newcastle United must settle for Europa League football after losing 3-1 to Everton. At Stamford Bridge, Chelsea beat Rovers 2-1.
