The youngster believes the Basques will have increased chances of winning the Europa League by imposing their dynamic approach against Atletico Madrid.
Ander Herrera feels that in order for Athletic Bilbao to defeat Atletico Madrid in the final of the Europa League, it will be vital to approach the game with the same style which they use during all of their games.

Marcelo Bielsa's side have surprised many en route to the final due to their entertaining and effective soccer, and are expected to confront the title decider by utilising the same strategies as always.

Since arriving at Athletic at the beginning of the season Bielsa has got his team playing dynamic, combative attacking soccer, and many have questioned whether he will employ those strategies for the final.

"We want to close a great tournament by being faithful to the soccer which has brought us here," Herrera affirmed to reporters in the pre-match press conference on Tuesday.

The former Real Zaragoza midfielder is anxiously awaiting the clash, but while he is confident in his team's chances of obtaining the desired result, he respects rivals Atletico Madrid, a team who he believes "also deserve to be here."

Herrera admitted that beating European giants Manchester United at Old Trafford was the moment when the Spaniards felt that they were good enough to go onto reach the final.

"It was the moment when we perhaps realised that we could go far, it was the turning point. We realised that we could be anyone. Beating one of the best teams in the world, and also proving better than them, was a huge boost," he affirmed.

Finally, Herrera voiced his opinion as to whether the fact that Atletico Madrid won the competition two years ago, could have any effect on Wednesday's final.

"Experience is a factor which we should keep in mind, but it won't be detrimental. We will try to overcome this with our soccer, with ambition and with the huge motivation that we have," he concluded.
