Napoli v Chelsea: Scrutinized Andre Villas-Boas wants Abramovich’s support
Andre Villas-Boas is hoping that tonight’s Napoli v Chelsea Champions League match doesn’t turn into a career decider.

There's a reason, perhaps even many, for Andre Villas-Boas to feel insecured as Chelsea boss.
The Portuguese manager is under intense scrutiny from the media and from some Chelsea who believe that he is not the right man for success at the Bridge. Young AVB is without a win in his last four matches at the head of the Blues’ coaching staff.
His winning percentage is below the average mark, 48.65 per cent to be precise. Andre Villas-Boas has won only 18 of his 37 matches since leaving FC Porto for Chelsea. Napoli will be looking to embarrass the 34-year-old even more.
However, regardless of what happens in the UEFA Champions League tonight, the Chelsea boss hopes that it won’t influence his job for the worst.
“My job is for this year and the next two years and I have the full confidence of the owner. I know these words would be more valuable coming from the top. I cannot keep saying them,” AVB boldly reminded during the pre-match conference.
“But as the voice of the club I will continue to perpetuate this message as this is what we believe in. From 2004 up to now has been the richest part of Chelsea's history for trophies and success.
“But if you want to perpetuate that success into the future, you have to make changes. I can understand the speculation about my future. But we have a three-year project to change not only the team but also the culture and structure of the club.”
It is believed by some football pundits that Roman Abramovich's faith in AVB is killing the club's UEFA Champions League title aspirations. Many have tipped European underdogs Napoli to avoid defeat in Italy on Tuesday night but Andre Villas-Boas might prove those wrong.
