The Rossoneri will have no choice but to obtain maximum points against a difficult Napoli outfit in order to remain hot on the heels of high-flying Juventus.

Milan's San Siro stadium will be a fitting venue for what is expected to be a fascinating encounter, which is incidentally between the two highest scoring teams of the Serie A.

The contest will also bring together two of the league's most prolific strikers in Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Edinson Cavani. Due to the attacking flair of both players neutrals could possibly be in for one of the most entertaining games of the season.

To add further spice to the encounter, both teams are in much need of a boosting victory, after having experienced rather disappointing results in recent outings.

Milan, who have won six out of their last seven Serie A games at the San Siro, will come into the clash as the slight favourites, even if they suffered a painful 2-0 defeat to Lazio at the Stadio Olimpico on Wednesday.

What tilts the game into Milan's direction is the fact that during this span they had managed to score a staggering 20 goals but had conceded a mere two.

Napoli, who many believed could possibly be championship material this season, haven't been in good form when playing away from home in recent outings, with barely a single win from their previous five games.

However, both sides will recall their last encounter, when Napoli came from behind to defeat Milan 3-1 at the Stadio San Paolo, courtesy of a spectacular hat-trick from Uruguayan talisman Cavani.

As has been the case in recent weeks, Milan boss Massimiliano Allegri will be unable to count with the services of a host of players, including Kevin-Prince Boateng, Alexander Merkel, Gennaro Gattuso, Alberto Aquilani and Brazilian striker Alexandre Pato.

Meanwhile, Walter Mazzarri, the coach of Napoli, should be delighted by the fact that he will be able to field a full-strength side against the Italian champions.

Who do you think will win the crunch-match?

Prediction:

Milan 2-2 Napoli
