Real Madrid have not kept a clean sheet since their 3-0 defeat of Sporting Gijon on December 3. However, the Spanish giants have reliable forwards as this records suggests:

Madrid have netted 20 goals in their last 5 games in La Liga to hit an average of 4 goals per match. Their perfect record stretches to more than 450 minutes in La Liga. Impressive.

Meanwhile, Getafe can also be proud of their current form. In the first place, they are on a run of 6 matches without defeat. Their last loss in La Liga dates from December 11 when Sevilla triumphed 3-0. Since then, Getafe have grabbed decent results which include their recent 2-1 win away to Levante.

Another positive fact for Getafe is that they rank third, just behind Athletic Bilbao and Real Madrid, as the team to have won the most aerial duels. Precisely, Getafe have won 54% of their aerial duels. They have a 130/249 score at the Coliseum Alfonso Perez.

The negative thing, however, is that their shot per game at home rate is poor. They are 17th on the list with an 11.7 SpG record.

For only the third time in 6 weeks, Getafe will play at home where they last drew goalless against Athletic Bilbao. The ninth-placed team has a 4-4-1 record on home soil whereas Real Madrid have won 25 points from a possible 30 away from the Santiago Bernabeu this season.

The last time both teams met, 6 goals were scored. Real Madrid edged the encounter thanks to strikes from Karim Benzema, Gonzalo Higuain and Cristiano Ronaldo. These three players are poised to get a feel of the game, this Saturday. Consequently, should Getafe stop contemplating the possibility of clinching victory?

If results go their way on Matchday 21, Getafe could rocket into the Europa League zone which is currently occupied by fifth-placed Espanyol and sixth-placed Athletic Bilbao. Real Madrid, meanwhile, are eying the prospect of opening a 10-point gap at the top of La Liga before Barcelona and Real Sociedad kick a ball at the Camp Nou that same night.

GETAFE VS REAL MADRID TEAM NEWS

Khedira and Di Maria’s exclusion from the match has been confirmed. German international Sami Khedria is still recovering from an ankle sprain whereas Di Maria is nursing a thigh injury. The good news for Real Madrid is that Sergio Ramos is back from suspension.

Getafe top the Aggression Chart with 72 yellow cards and 4 red cards (35 yellow cards and 1 red card picked up at home). Eventually, Los Blancos’ key players might want to take a cautious approach. Jose Mourinho has chosen the following 19 men for this weekend’s derby:

Casillas, Adan, Jesus; Varane, Albiol, Pepe, Coentrao, Arbeloa, Ramos; Lass, Xabi Alonso, Ozil, Callejon, Sahin, Granero, Kaka; Cristiano Ronaldo, Higuain, Benzema

For Getafe, red-carded Alberto Lopo and Daniel Guiza are missing through suspension. Rafa and former Real Madrid player Pedro Leon are injured. Mane and Michel are doubtful as Miku and Barrada are expected to lead their side’s attack.
