Liverpool vs Tottenham Hotspur Preview
Liverpool stands sixth in the Premier League table and has a realistic chance of finishing fourth. Tottenham sits third, five points behind City, and has a realistic chance of winning the Premier League.

Spurs 4-0 Liverpool
The fixture in White Hart Lane between these two sides wasn’t pretty. Tottenham put four past the team from Merseyside. Liverpool had two men sent off the pitch and thus finished with just nine players. Liverpool recently has picked up their form. They have knocked out both Manchester sides from cup competitions. They carried their Cup form into the league as they beat Wolves by three goals.
Tottenham beat Wigan 3-1 in their previous Premier League match. Prior to that, they went down to City in very unlucky fashion, 3-2. Mario Balotelli sealed the deal with a penalty in the dying minutes of injury time when he should not even have been on the pitch following a horrific kick on Scott Parker.
Spurs is challenging for the title as strange as that sounds. Liverpool is trying to get back into the top four. This is somewhat a case of ‘role reversal’ for both teams. Spurs is usually the team that tries to challenge for the final Champions League spot while Liverpool usually fights for the title.
Liverpool’s confidence is currently high and they will be looking for revenge after the way events unfolded in White Hart Lane. Expect Liverpool to use both wings to push Spurs back. Liverpool is a stubborn side at home- they are not easy to beat. Liverpool must win as right behind them stands Arsenal who could overtake them if they beat Blackburn on Saturday.
Tottenham though has won 15 Premier League games out of a possible 23. They are the only realistic challengers to the threat that the Manchester clubs possess. Many are still predicting that Tottenham will eventually fall out of the race. Tottenham has been constantly proving doubters wrong and if they beat Liverpool at Anfield, the number of doubters will decrease.
Who do you think will win? I think this one will end in a draw:
Liverpool 1-1 Tottenham
