Los Angeles (January 6, 2012) – Blue and red collide once again when Manchester City meets neighbor Manchester United in the third round of the FA Cup Sunday, January 8 at 8:00 AM ET on FOX Soccer.

City’s 6-1 demolition of United in Barclays Premier League play at the end of October, coupled with Wednesday’s 3-0 loss to Newcastle United, bring Manchester United into this match with something to prove. Manchester City surprised United in the 2011 FA Cup semi-final with a stinging 1-0 win, raising the stakes even more for this third round match.

The battle for FA Cup supremacy starts with a special pre-game “Goals on Sunday” hosted by Christian Miles, along with Warren Barton, Kyle Martino and Keith Costigan, followed by kick-off at 8.00 a.m. ET. The FA Cup is the oldest knock-out soccer competition in the world.
