Aston Villa vs Arsenal and Spurs vs Chelsea mark action-packed midweek in the EPL
When it’s winter in England, the players and the coaches get even harder at work. Matchday 17 of the Premier League falls in midweek!

Chelsea and Arsenal were the only clubs among the top 6 to drop points last weekend.
After losing 1-0 to Manchester City at the Etihad Stadium last Sunday, the Gunners will try to bounce back away to Aston Villa on Wednesday.
The Villans succumbed to a 2-0 defeat in the hands of Liverpool and eventually dropped onto the 10th position in the table. Fifth-placed Arsenal, meanwhile, failed to close the gap on Chelsea.
Arsene Wenger conceded that the team’s title chase might be over following the loss against Manchester City. The race for a top four finish, however, is still very much open. Will the disappointed Gunners be able to provide a spirited performance against Aston Villa?
Aston Villa vs Arsenal is set to kick off at 2:45pm EST (7:45pm GMT). Simultaneously, Manchester City will pursue their hunt for English Premier League glory with their second consecutive home game.
This time, the Citizens will come up against Stoke City. The latter firmly occupy the 8th spot in the league table whereas Manchester City posses a 2-point advantage over second-placed Manchester United.
Speaking about the Red Devils, they will be in action against Fulham at Craven Cottage in a 3:00pm EST (8:00pm GMT) kick-off. The hosts, who recently upset Liverpool, will try their luck against Ferguson’s new generation of players.
Manchester United have not lost a single match away from home in the Premier League this season. Will they add 3 more points to the 20 they clinched out of Old Trafford thus far?
In another 3:00pm EST fixture, sixth-placed Liverpool will attempt to surpass the 29-point mark they currently have. They may have to sweat to win against the Latics. Remember that Wigan Athletic surprised Andre Villas-Boas’ inconsistent Blues last weekend by securing a late 1-1 draw at home.
Tottenham Hotspur and Chelsea will complete the great midweek action with a match on Thursday night. This fixture will take place at White Hart Lane. Spurs have collected 18 points from a possible 21 on home soil. They are third in the English Premier League with 34 points, 2 more than the Blues.
It will be down to Harry Redknapp to make good use of his team’s advantages over AVB’s Chelsea. The good news for the Blues is that John Terry and Ramires should be fit in time for this London derby.
Where will Arsenal, Manchester City, Manchester United, Liverpool, Chelsea and Tottenham Hotspur be ranked at the end of Matchday 17?
