The Super 14, the largest club rugby union championship in the southern hemisphere, kicks off Friday, February 12 at 6 a.m. ET/ 3 a.m. PT when Western Force host Australian rivals Brumbies in Perth, Australia live on Setanta Sports Canada.

NEW SEASON OF SUPER 14 RUGBY ACTION KICKS OFF FRIDAY LIVE ON SETANTA SPORTS CANADA  

Super 14 live action continues on Setanta Saturday, February 13 at 1:30 a.m. ET when record-holding seven-time Super 14 champion Crusaders host Highlanders at AMI Stadium in Christchurch, New Zealand.

The Super 14 is comprised of 14 club sides – five each from New Zealand and South Africa and four from Australia. Setanta Sports has exclusive live coverage of the Super 14 which opens this weekend and concludes with the final on May 29.
 

 

Last season South African club side Bulls, based in Pretoria, captured their second Super 14 championship in the past three seasons. Bulls easily defeated Hamilton, New Zealand based Chiefs 61-17 in the final.

The four Australian rugby union clubs taking part in the Super 14 hope to end a drought for their country in this competition that now spans five seasons. The last Australian side to take home the title was Brumbies out of Canberra in 2004.
