Cristiano Ronaldo confident as Valencia’s Soldado eyes Real Madrid revenge

In the most recent Valencia vs Real Madrid fixture, Los Che scored thrice. This achievement, however, meant all but nothing as a Gonzalo Higuain hat-trick and a Kaka double inspired Los Blancos to a 6-3 victory.

Looking back at what happened that day, on April 23 precisely, Valencia striker Roberto Soldado feels bitter. The play maker, who will face the likes of Cristiano Ronaldo and Mesut Özil on Saturday, has revenge on his mind.

“Not all the players who were there last year are still here, but the result really hurt and we haven't forgotten about that game yet,” Soldado revealed in an interview with Marca.

“We have to make amends this weekend and I'm desperate for revenge. We can't let something like that happen again.

“We have learned our lessons from the loss last term. We now know how to take them on though and we will do a lot better.”

Valencia are unbeaten at the Mestalla Stadium in La Liga this season. Real Madrid’s Cristiano Ronaldo, however, is apparently unfazed by Los Che’s record. The Portuguese captain, who fired the Seleçao to Euro 2012 with a brilliant performance in midweek, is confident about Real Madrid’s chances of succeeding this year.

“It's important to be ahead of Barcelona. It's a good thing and I think it gives us even more motivation,” Ronaldo reportedly said according to the Adnkronos news agency.

“If we carry on like this then I think we will win something. Real Madrid are currently on course for three titles.”

Los Blancos seat on top of La Liga standings as the chase for the title remains tight.
