Brazil defeated Egypt 2-0 in an international friendly match staged at the Ahmed bin Ali stadium in Doha on Monday. The Selecao put on a good display, ruining Bob Bradley's official Egypt debut by winning their fifth successive match.

As was expected, Brazil dominated their opponents with free-flowing attacking soccer. Valencia striker Jonas put them ahead in the 39th minute when he tapped home a right-sided cross from Hulk that went across goal. The goal was Jonas' first for the Brazilian national team.

Jonas had another opportunity to double Brazil's lead just seconds after the restart, when he met a sublime through ball, before rounding goalkeeper Ahmed El Shenawy and shooting, but his effort was cleared off the line by Ahmed Hergazi.

But in the 59th minute Jonas had more luck on his side, doubling Brazil's advantage when he poked home a rebound after El Shenawy could only parry a Fernandinho header from a free-kick.

From then on it was all one-way traffic, as the five-time World Cup winners completely outplayed their opponents, creating several clear-cut opportunities to extend their advantage. Although Brazil presented a relatively second-string side they were very competitive and included players that could play an integral part for the Selecao when they host the 2014 World Cup.

As the successor of Hassan Shehata, Bradley has big shoes to fill, as his predecessor won three straight African Cup of Nations titles with Egypt. However, his debut with the Pharaohs left a lot to be desired as his team were no match for the high-flying Brazilians.

Egypt will have an opportunity to avenge the defeat to Brazil as the two teams are scheduled to meet again in February of 2012 in Cairo.
