Manchester United in reconstruction phase at Everton after Man City catastrophe
Manchester United are heading into Matchday 10 of the English Premier League 5 points behind bitter rivals Manchester City. Will they recover from their wounds against Everton?

Manchester United's defense may win Saturday's game at Everton for all Red Devils fans.
Manchester United have showed down the years that they can handle pressure and former Red Devil player Denis Irwin believes in the potential of Fergie’s current team. Manchester United supporters are insisting that the club’s 6-1 defeat to local rivals Manchester City doesn’t mean the end of the world. Irwin shares this opinion.
“It's happened to us before,” he reminded during an interview with MUTV as he reflected on United's unimaginable 6-1 humiliation in the hands of the Citizens.
“I played in a team that went up to Newcastle and got beat 5-0 and, the following week, travelled down to Southampton and were beaten 6-3.
“It's happened to us before - the 4-1 at home to Liverpool was a horrible day as well. You have to put them behind you.”
Anti-Manchester United fans are hoping that the Red Devils will faint just like Chelsea did last season. As of now, Ferguson needs to rally his men before things get more alarming. As Denis Irwin said, “five points behind City is not nice” for Manchester United.
“We're not used to being behind City,” the former Red Devil remarked.
“But we're only a quarter of the way through the season so let's hope we make up ground. Traditionally, we're better in the second half of the season so that augurs well.”
However, as much change exists, tradition doesn’t always have an impact, so midfielder Ji-Sung Park has called on his team mates to wake up before it’s too late. Speaking ahead of Saturday’s important match away to Everton, the South Korean icon stated:
“We have to concentrate and everyone has to turn up to show the City game has not affected us. We have to get over that.
“We have to put it right on the pitch and we have to prove it. It's a very important game to us and we have to go there and fight to get the points.
“It's not an easy game at Goodison Park - it's always difficult there. Just look at last season, when we were winning 3-1 and in injury-time they scored two goals.”
Everton would be delighted to make of Manchester United their victims this weekend. In fact, this would be a stunning achievement for Liverpool-based club. The Toffees are yet to affirm their authority at Goodison Park this season. They’ve managed only 4 points from a possible 12 at that venue.
In their last home game in the Premier League, Everton produced an unconvincing performance and subsequently suffered a 3-1 defeat to Manchester United’s rivals Chelsea. However, the Toffees may find hope through their defeat of Fulham last weekend.
