Villarreal apparently find it hard to contain Cristiano Ronaldo and Kaka. Tonight, at the Santiago Bernabeu, both are expected to dazzle at the benefit of the in-form Blancos.
Cristiano Ronaldo and Kaka have the habit of scoring against Villarreal. The two superstars have 11 goals between them against the Yellow Submarines. Almost one fifth of the totality of Kaka’s goals for Real Madrid has occurred against Villarreal.

In his first every match against this team following his transfer from AC Milan, the Brazilian midfielder scored a 72nd minute penalty to round up a convincing 2-0 for Real Madrid. Cristiano Ronaldo claimed the previous strike.

In February 2010, Cristiano Ronaldo and Kaka starred in a stunning 6-2 defeat of Villarreal. Kaka got a brace whereas Cristiano Ronaldo opened the scoring sheet with a 17th minute free-kick which he dedicated to all the victims of his then-ravaged homeland, the Madeira Island.

Last season, Ronaldo finally clinched a hat-trick and Kaka got a goal in a 6-goal thriller which ended in favor of Real Madrid.

The only time Kaka failed to score in a game where Ronaldo got on the scoring sheet against Villarreal was in May 2011. The number 8 midfielder produced an assist and Ronaldo bagged a brace in a 3-1 win at El Madrigal.

Tonight, Real Madrid will be at the Santiago Bernabeu. They’ve been fantastic at this venue this season, like since the past couple of years especially.

The Spanish giants are enjoying a formidable run whereas Villarreal are struggling to find their way through. The Yellow Submarines are 16th in the table and they have won only once in La Liga this season.

Real Madrid’s assistant manager, Aitor Karanka, is confident that his team can get their 7th Spanish Primera Division win.

“We must continue to play like we did against Olympique Lyonnais and Malaga. We won't have to worry about anything if we perform at that level,” he stated at a press conference on Tuesday.

“Nevertheless, Villarreal will make it harder for us than may seem at first. They are better than what the table seems to show. They caused trouble for us last season.”

Villarreal lost 3-0 to Levante last weekend whereas Real Madrid defeated Malaga 4-0.
