Pep Guardiola will not get bitter after losing 4 points from his last 3 matches in La Liga. Valdes, however, sees a few reasons to feel disappointed following Barcelona’s 2-2 draw against Valencia.
Jeremy Mathieu took the opportunity to exhibit his talent against the Catalans as Valencia profited from his fine performance on the night. Eric Abidal conceded an own goal under the pressure created by Mathieu whereas Pablo Hernandez netted an easy strike to finish Mathieu’s incredible work in attack.

But goals from Pedro Rodriguez and Fabregas helped Barcelona avoid defeat at the Mestalla on Wednesday. Valdes, who conceded 2 goals in the match, shared his opinion about the score line. He told Spanish daily Marca:

“This is an important draw for us, because it is not easy to get a good result here. The coach had warned us that it wouldn't be easy, but we're slightly disappointed that we didn't manage to score that third goal.

“Valencia dominated proceedings in the first half. However, we saw more of the ball after the interval and got some good chances.

“We are now focusing on our next match against Atletico Madrid and want the full three points against them."

But coach Pep Guardiola welcomed the result better. During the post-match press conference, the Barcelona man was in a rather content mood as he stated the following:

“I have to congratulate Valencia for the match they played. This was a wonderful football spectacle.

“Our strength has given us this draw and I think it is a fair result. I have to congratulate Valencia's fans and learn from what we did not to do so well today.”

Guardiola concluded:

“It is normal that some errors could be made, but this is the path to follow. We have secured a good result against the league leaders, a great team.”

On Barcelona’s official website, Wednesday’s 2-2 draw got portrayed as a vital one. The Blaugrana were praised for stealing a point in a match where Valencia’s Jeremy Mathieu was branded as “the danger”.
