Two legs of hot action await football fans in the 2011 Supercopa de España, but forward Pedro Rodriguez insists the pre-season challenge is really one to be excited about.
Barcelona closed another successful season a few months ago with two titles from La Liga and the UEFA Champions League in their hands. Their participation in the World Football Challenge tournament however did not produce much, with their rivals Real Madrid taking full advantage of their sloppiness by going on to win the summer competition.

Although their last matches were far from convincing from a plain angle, the Catalans see no reason to fear their Super Cup opponents. “We have another important challenge and we’re very excited about it,” Pedro was quoted saying by the official FC Barcelona website.

The attacker added: “We are starting the season with a tough test, but I am convinced that the team will respond.”

Pedro was a scorer in the first leg of the 2009 Supercopa de España against Athletic Bilbao. His tally against Los Blancos could well be extended further on August 14 and August 17, having bagged 3 goals already against Real Madrid in his career as a first team player.
