Catch up with ESPN Deportes, ESPN2 and ESPN3.com for a great coverage of Wednesday night’s USA vs Mexico international friendly match as coach Jurgen Klinsmann will be making his debut.
The encounter, which is set to kick off at 9pm EST at the Lincoln Field in Philadelphia, will be broadcasted live on ESPN2 and ESPN3. It is expected to attract millions of spectators as the rivalry between the 2 nations continues to grow despite the fact that it is a friendly match.

On June 25, the date which marks USA’s last meeting with Mexico up to now, the Americans suffered great disappointment by throwing away a 2-0 lead to lose 4-2 to El Tri. This match was played in front of over 93,000 fans at the Rose Bowl stadium in Pasadena. This time round, USA have an obligation to reassure their fans over their lost authority against the Mexicans.

ESPN’s Alexis Lalas has backed Jurgen Klinsmann to respond to the United States’ desire to progress in world football. The former Klinsmann team mate as a player was quoted as saying:

“This is an interesting collection of players [Jurgen] Klinsmann assembled. For the players, it is their first interaction with a Klinsmann-led team or camp. Whether they are rookies or veterans, they need to leave a good impression for the new coach in camp and playing against Mexico.”

Alexis Lalas, who also enjoyed working alongside Klinsmann during ESPN’s coverage of the 2010 World Cup, added:

“This is the start of a new era. He [Klinsmann] wants to show that he is building on the past and doing new things going forward. There is a lot of curiosity and some mystery surrounding Jurgen Klinsmann with what he is going to do for and with the U.S. national men’s team program.”
