The Portuguese striker added to his impressive scoring form in Saturday evening's win.

Diogo Jota continued in his remarkable goalscoring form for Liverpool by netting yet another crucial goal in the weekend's Premier League encounter with West Ham. The 23-year-old striker turned up once again to score the goal that will decide what was a keenly contested affair.

Three days after making history by scoring Liverpool's 10,000th goal in the Champions League win over Midtjylland, Jota added to his tally to enter the club's record books once more. His side was made to fight back in order to secure the win with Mohamed Salah's penalty in the 42nd minute cancelling out Pablo Fornals' 10th minute opener.

With the game approaching its send and seemingly heading towards a draw, Jota - who was introduced into the fray in the 70th minute - first had a goal overruled by the VAR eight minutes after his introduction. In the 85th minute, the former Wolves star combined with another substitute in Xherdan Shaqiri and Trent-Alexander Arnold to score the eventual winner. Having scored for the third time in as many Premier League home games, the 23-year-old striker became only the second Liverpool player after Luis Garcia to achieve the feat.

Meanwhile, the win took Jurgen Klopp's side's point haul to 16, firing them to first position in the premiership. They currently lead former table-toppers and rivals Everton by three points although the Toffees have a game in hand against Newcastle United on Sunday.
