Two games, two defeats, no goals scored. Simply put, PSG have had a very rough start to the current campaign as Les Parisiens look to successfully defend their Ligue 1 title. It's quite unusual, indeed to see the capital giants struggling so early on, and they now come into this match having lost 1-0 to Marseille in a very bitterly contested Classique clash.

That match cost them more than just three points, however. Star man Neymar is suspended for this fixture after being involved in a mass brawl during injury time; the Brazilian has defended his actions by stating that he was racially abused by Marseille defender Alvaro Gonzalez. Nonetheless he's still banned, with some reports claiming that the former Barcelona ace could miss as much as seven games, while Gonzalez, who has attempted to deny hurling racist abuse could miss up to ten if he's found guilty. In addition to Neymar, both Leandro Paredes and Layvin Kurzawa are also banned for their part in the melee over the weekend.

Metz, meanwhile, are also in the same boat in terms of poor form. The visitors are also seeking their first three points of the nascent campaign, having lost their first two matches against Monaco and Lille. Last season, Les Grenats avoided the drop and they will be naturally seeking to do the same this time around. It's also important to note that although Vincent Hognon's side have endured a rocky start, they will face a potentially "easier" opponent this weekend - with Reims also struggling after also losing their first two matches.

It goes without saying that the hosts, despite the bitter taste of losing the Classique match last weekend still sitting in their mouths, will want to quickly get back to winning ways against another opponent who've had a difficult start. Will Metz be the victims of a very aggrieved and frustrated PSG side? Or will Les Grenats manage to pull off what would be a shock upset and end their long hoodoo against the capital giants?

PSG: The hosts have been hit with a major suspension and injury crisis. Neymar, Layvin Kurzawa and Leandro Paredes are all banned for this game following their participation in a brawl during last weekend's Classique match. In addition, Marco Verratti and Thilo Kehrer are both out injured, while Kylian Mbappe is still a doubt for this match after testing positive for COVID-19.

Metz: As for the visitors, they'll be missing Manuel Cabit and Kevin N'Doram due to injury.
