The Arsenal skipper secured another remarkable feat with his two goals in Saturday's cup clash.

Arsenal striker Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang has joined an illustrious company with his goals in Saturday's FA Cup semi-final clash with Manchester City. The 31-year-old attacker struck twice to put his side in the driving seat in the high-profile encounter at Wembley.

A frantic start saw the Gabonese striker firing the Gunners in front inside the 19th minute. Here, the former Borussia Dortmund star, who was free at the far post, converted a cross from Nicolas Pepe with a half-volley from a tight angle.

In the 71st minute, Aubameyang got his second of the night. Against the run of play, a pass from Kieran Tierney's found him completely through on goal. The striker then run towards Ederson and fired the ball in-between the Brazilian's legs for his 25th goal of the season.

In retrospect, Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang became the fourth Arsenal player to score a competitive brace at Wembley Stadium for the first time in five years. The record was first set by Reg Lewis in the 1950 FA Cup final and was equalled by Charlie Nicholas (1987 League Cup final) and Alexis Sánchez (2015 FA Cup semi-final) respectively.

The Gabon international also went a step closer to a feat currently held by Liverpool's Mohamed Salah. With his two goals in the cup semi-final, the forward took his tally in all competitions for Arsenal to 66, making him the second highest goal scoring English topflight player after Salah (68) since his debut in February 2018.
