Arsene Wenger: No Need To Speak About Titles Until We Get Better

Arsene Wenger has admitted that his side should not speak about any title challenge after seeing a poor offensive display from the Gunners in the scoreless draw against Blackburn last night.

The Gunners' title hopes suffered a massive blow last night when they were held to a stalemate at the Emirates. The result leaves Arsenal trailing Manchester United by a massive 7 points with only eight matches to go.

Nonetheless, Wenger praised Rovers for their gritty showings that obviously disrupted Arsenal's offensive game. However, Wenger was also quick to insist that his side's attacking section were also to be blamed for clearly showcasing their flaws

"Half of it is down to the fact Blackburn defended well but I feel it was more down to our poor offensive performance today," said Wenger.

"We have to focus on our performance, not on Manchester United today.

"Before we speak about the title we have to come back to a better level of performance and then we can speak about that but we have to raise our level."

While Wenger did not concede any defeat in the title race with Manchester United, he was pretty worried about the lack of tempo his side portrayed today against Blackburn.

"I fear nothing but I am concerned about our performance today. The performance we produced today is not good enough and that is the first concern," he said.

"Our performance today was just flat so we have to come back to a better level of performance. It was a more frustrating performance because we didn't have the pace in our game.

"Overall it was a flat performance with a lack of energy level and a lack of sharpness. It was quite a big concern to see what we saw today.

"It is difficult to identify one special thing.

"I thought we started okay and after our game became flat and very few players looked to have the resources to put the pace up in the game.

"We had golden opportunities in the first-half and the second half but when you don't take them it's not a coincidence."

This defeat has literally turn Manchester United into clear favorites to be English champions for a record 19 times although there could be some dramatic turns to an already spellbinding season of the English Premier League
