Mourinho Dejected After Defeat Against Sporting Gijon

Jose Mourinho has literally given up on capturing the Spanish League title after seeing his side slump to their first home defeat of the season against lowly Sporting Gijon. Gijon's victory also effectively ended Mourinho's 9-Years unbeaten home record that has gained him praises and fans over that period of time.

We will need to go back to February 23, 2002 to remind the Special One of his last domestic home defeat. Being in charge of FC Porto, Jose Mourinho saw Beira Mar defeat his team in a tightly contested match. However, he never lost a single game at home after that- despite being in charge of four different clubs, although the record has finally been put to bed by Sporting Gijon today.

Nonetheless, Jose Mourinho blamed fatigue for his player's dissapointing showings while also insisting that the opposition team had all the luck during their encounter at the Santiago Bernebeu.

"We knew our limitations. The players are dead. Luck is part of football, our rivals had it all and we didn't," the 'Special One' explained.

When asked about his team's title chances, Mourinho literally admitted that it has literally slipped off their fingers after today's result.

''The mathematics say that the league is not lost yet, but realistically, if the gap goes from five to eight points, then it will practically be impossible.

This defeat comes as a huge blow to a Madrid side that will face Tottenham Hotspur in the coming week as they bid to bring back some European joy for their already suffering fans.
