In our match preview informing you where and how to watch the USWNT take on Costa Rica, we compare how each team performed in their first group stage match, analyze both team’s head-to-head record and talk about players to watch.

The USWNT and Costa Rica have eclipsed the rest of Group A – Haiti and Panama – and now have the duty to finish first in the table to play Group B's second seed. This CWOQ match will be aired on FOX Sports 2 on February 3 at 8:30 p.m. ET and will be played at the BBVA Compass Stadium in Houston, Texas.

The host nation has enjoyed a couple of commanding victories defeating Haiti 4-0 on matchday 1, a scoreline that was doubled against Panama in matchday 2, 8-0.

As for las Ticas, they enjoyed a 6-1 win against Panama on the opening match of the tournament and later kept a young and talented Haitian team on lockdown winning 2-0.

Over the course of the first two matches, the U.S. has managed to score 12 goals with midfielder Lindsey Horan scoring four, the most out of the pack. An expected goal differential, but it wasn't until after matchday 2 that the Stars and Stripes took command of Group A.

Costa Rica came into this competition as second favorites in the group and have lived up to expectation by not slipping against the two weaker sides. With eight goals and only one against, the Costa Ricans are coming into this final group stage fixture with priceless momentum as they look for their first-ever win against the USA.

USWNT vs Costa Rica: Head-to-head

Like the USWNT head-to-head record with pretty much every nation in the Concacaf, the one against Costa Rica has been flawless. The record stands at 15-0-0. To be fair, only one of the 15 matches has been played in the Central American nation.

Their most recent encounter was back on November 9 at Jacksonville, Florida, where the home team demolished las Ticas 6-0. That was Vlatko Andonovski's first match as manager of the U.S. and is yet to lose a match since.

These two teams are familiar with one another as the USWNT ha played Costa Rica more times than any other Concacaf nation besides Canada and Mexico.

Players to watch

Lindsay Horan

Lindsey Horan's second performance was an improvement from her first. Even though that could be the case for the rest of the team, Hora is the top scorer for the USWNT with four of their 12 goals. The 25-year-old midfielder scored a hattrick against Panama and will look for more against Costa Rica.

Raquel Rodriguez

Raquel Rodriguez and the legendary Shirley Cruz were the two players to watch going into this CWOQ tournament, but Rodriguez stole the spotlight as she led Costa Rica to a 2-0 win against Haiti. Her two goals made the difference in a match that could edge the nation its first Olympic Games appearance.
