The Frenchman has made no attempt to hide his desire for an exit and is reportedly ready to force a move.

Paul Pogba’s desire to join Real Madrid is no secret and while the Frenchman has been professional regarding his situation at Man United, the midfielder has now decided to take matters into his own hands.

According to reports, the World Cup winner has refused to play for the Red Devils in their pre-season clash with AC Milan. The former Juventus ace was expected to make the trip to Cardiff but he has instead opted to remain at home.

The official reason for his absence, as claimed by the 20-time Premier League champions, is due to an injury. The English giants claim that Pogba has aggravated a back injury which he picked up in training back in Oslo, with Solskjaer stating that the player should fully recover from his back spasm early next week.

However, according to  Jose Alvarez Haya, an El Chiringuito journalist, the player is not injured but has simply refused to make the trip to Cardiff in order to push a transfer. The Daily Mail had a similar story to report. While the British outlet stopped short of accusing the 26-year-old of going on protest, they do report that he surprised Man United officials for failing to turn up for Friday’s flight as he had been expected to travel.

Whether Pogba will secure his dream move to the Bernabeu remains unseen. The Frenchman has publicly revealed his desire for a new challenge, with his agent Mino Raiola also admitting that the superstar wants out of Old Trafford. Unfortunately for him, the Red Devils are not eager to sell.

The Red Devils are expected to sign Bruno Fernandes but the board still prefers to keep hold of their record signing. Real Madrid, meanwhile, are struggling to match Man United’s asking price and are thus reportedly ready to look elsewhere for a midfield signing, namely Ajax’s Donny van de Beek.
