So Aaron Ramsey is expected to kick a ball for Arsenal’s first team at last this weekend. Team news from the Gunners camp ahead of the Sunderland game also tells that Koscielny returns.
This weekend, Arsenal could cut the gap at the top of the English Premier League table to a single point and Wenger has chosen the players that he’ll use in order to attempt doing so. In a pre-match press conference, the Arsenal coach confirmed the availability of defender Laurent Koscielny and of midfielder Aaron Ramsey.

The latter last played for the Gunners in February 2010 whereas Koscielny is said to have recovered from a hamstring injury. Meanwhile, Alex Song is among the names that have been ruled out for Saturday’s English Premier League match at home to Sunderland. According to the club’s official website, Coach Arsene Wenger affirmed:

“The team news is that we do not have Cesc Fabregas, Alex Song, Robin van Persie... plus of course the former injuries like Vermaelen.

“Aaron Ramsey is back in the squad for tomorrow; Koscielny is back in the squad as well. That is basically it.”

Earlier this season, Arsenal were denied victory away to Sunderland as a late Darren Bent goal canceled out Fabregas' first-half opener. This time, they’ll hope to get all three points as they remain very much in contention to win the English Premier League title.

Having played a game less than league leaders Manchester United, Arsenal are four points off the pace. Should they defeat Sunderland on Saturday and should Manchester United drop points away to Liverpool on Sunday, then the Gunners will have a better chance of vying for the top spot as the season reaches its final stage.
