Spanish newspapers and French outlets refer to these as Paul Pogba's last months as a Manchester United player, but coach Ole Gunnar Solskjaer feels differently about it.
Speaking in the pre-match press conference for the game between Manchester United and Barcelona, the Norwegian boss ruled out that all the flirtation between Los Blancos and the Red Devils' No. 6 will end up with the Frenchman leaving the club.
"Paul is currently thinking about the game and he is not listening to the rumors. He's one of the best and he loves these type of games. He knows he was not great against PSG and he wants to make up for it. Personally, I can't picture him playing anywhere but for (Manchester) United next season," Solskjaer said.
The French footballer has been praised by Zinedine Zidane in the past couple of weeks, which sparked rumors about a possible transfer. Pogba did not ease the tension by hailing Real Madrid, calling it a club where all players would love to be.
Despite these words, Solskjaer believes that all this pre-match talk will not get to his players' minds.
"Transfer rumors don't have an effect on us. We are fully focused on winning this game. The atmosphere will be impressive and we need our fans to support us as they did when we played against Liverpool. I remember playing in that environment, it was electric. Playing at Old Trafford under those lights...I hope there's a bit of rain, too," Solksjaer added,
The Red Devils will host Barcelona in the first leg of their UEFA Champions League tie on Wednesday. The return leg is scheduled to be played on April 16.
