PSG and Nantes will lock horns in the semi-finals of the Coupe de France at the Parc des Princes, with the winner facing Rennes in the final.

How they got here: PSG vs Nantes

PSG, who are the reigning holders of the cup, have largely cruised through the competition so far. Their journey began in the round of 64, when Les Parisiens took on fifth-tier side GSI Pontivy and beat them 4-0. In the round of 32, Thomas Tuchel's side got the better of bogey opponent Strasbourg - who have given them trouble in the past - by edging them out 2-0.

However, PSG were really surprised that it took until extra time to see off third-tier side FC Villefranche, who held them scoreless for over 100 minutes until their defensive wall finally collapsed and their opponents shipped three goals in 20 minutes. Fellow Ligue 1 side Dijon didn't offer much resistance as the capital giants eased past them in a 3-0 win inside regulation time in the quarter-finals, and next up will be Nantes, who have had a very difficult season both on and off the pitch.

In January, the visitors lost their top goalscorer, Emiliano Sala in a tragic plane crash en route to his new club, Cardiff City, and have struggled to recover since. They currently sit in 15th spot in Ligue 1, and whilst they are not in danger of relegation, they have won just one of their last five games. This will be the first of two meetings in a fortnight for Nantes and PSG, and although the visitors are the definite underdogs in their upcoming quarter-finals clash, cup ties certainly tend to be a more balanced affair as smaller teams do have a tendency to cause major upsets.

Nantes' journey so far has been quite impressive in the Coupe de France; despite the personal turmoil the club have faced since January, they have picked up victories against third-tier side L'Entente SSG (1-0), Toulouse (2-0), and Championnat National 2's AS Vitré (2-0).
