Another massive blow for Mauricio Pochettino's side.

Tottenham Hotspur has been hit with a massive injury blow with the club confirming that the midfielder will be sidelined for a while. The 22-year-old midfielder picked up a hamstring injury in Saturday's dramatic win over Fulham. A statement released by the club indicates that the England international will be out of action until the early days in March.

"Following scans and clinical assessment, we can confirm that Dele Alli has suffered a hamstring strain," the report read.

"The injury forced the England midfielder to be substituted in the closing stages of Sunday's 2-1 win at Fulham.

"Dele will now undergo a period of rehabilitation with our medical staff with the expectation of returning to training in early March."

Alli joins Harry Kane as the latest Spurs star set to miss a series of crucial upcoming games. The latter was ruled out of action after picking up a knock in the 1-0 defeat to Manchester United earlier this month.

French midfielder Moussa Sissoko will also be unavailable for the next two weeks having sustained a groin injury. Mauricio Pochettino's side was also dealt a huge blow after in-form attacker Heung-min Son departed to feature for South Korea in the ongoing Asian Cup.

A series of bad results in December saw Tottenham's hopes of staging a title challenge with the likes of Manchester City and Liverpool dashed. Momentarily, the White Lilies trail the former by five points and the latter by nine points respectively.

The battle for a top-four spot has intensified with Chelsea, Arsenal and Manchester United all fighting to secure a Champions League qualification next season. The Red Devils, in particular, have experienced a resurgence following the arrival of interim manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer.

Having registered seven wins out of seven, the Old Trafford outfit is now just three points behind fourth-placed Chelsea and seven points behind Tottenham in third with 15 more league matches left to play.
