The Brazilian full-back's stunner ensured a continental goalscoring landmark for the Citizens.

Danilo's strike fires Manchester City to goalscoring milestone in Europe Danilo's first half strike in Sunday's Premier League encounter secured a milestone for Manchester City as Pep Guardiola's side became the first club in Europe to score 100 goals this season. The Brazilian fullback attempted a shot a goal from about 20 yards and saw his effort deflect off an opposition player into the net.

It was a one-way traffic after the opener for the Citizens as they subsequently added two more goals to prevent Huddersfield from causing any upset. Raheem Sterling and Leroy Sane combined for their sixth Premier League goal of the season and Manchester City's second of the day inside the 54th minute before the latter tapped home his side's third two minutes later.

For the second season running, Sterling has reached double figures for Premier League goals having failed to do so in the previous six seasons. The final 3-0 score means that Manchester City now has 102 goals across all competitions this season. Interestingly, 22 of such goals came in the last four matches against Huddersfield, Wolves, Burton Albion and Rotherham United.

The win also also restored the point deficit between Pep Guardiola's side and league leaders Liverpool to four.

In contrast, the Etihad outfit's goal tally is now 12 more than that of second-placed Paris Saint-Germain who annihilated Guingamp in Ligue 1 via a 9-0 scoreline on Saturday.

La Liga leaders Barcelona follows suit with 78 goals while Sevilla and Tottenham Hotspur completes the top five with 71 and 70 goals respectively. The later could add up to its number when it encounters Fulham later on Sunday afternoon.
