The Red Devil's interim manager is gradually forging his legacy after seeing off Spurs in Sunday's league game.

Manchester United's new interim boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has entered the club's history books following Sunday's win over Tottenham Hotspur. The Norwegian manager looked on as his side scrapped out a 1-0 victory at Wembley. This, as a result, made him the first-ever manager in the history of Manchester United to win six games in succession. 

The milestone was set off in motion after Paul Pogba and Marcus Rashford, once again, combined to produce the only goal in Sunday's league encounter. Although the Red Devils were subsequently denied a few more goalscoring opportunities by Spurs, it was the resolute nature of David De Gea which stood out among all of the game's exploits. 

The Spanish shot-stopper pulled off 11 incredible saves in the second half – the most by any goalkeeper in the Premier League this season – to deny Mauricio Pochettino's men a goal.

Relatively, Marcus Rashford's goal meant that he has now scored three goals in three consecutive Premier League games for the first time in his career. So far, he has been involved in 13 league goals this season, making it his most productive campaign since making his first senior debut for Manchester United (seven goals and six assists).

For Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, the odds of taking over as a permanent manager has been massively slashed having passed his first major test against another manager who has been tipped for the role. Although the club yet to make a decision about who will be taking over next, reports suggest that the players are collectively working to ensure that the ex-striker secures the role of head coach permanently.
