The talented Spanish youngster became the first winter transfer for Los Blancos in what is turning out to be a disappointing season.

The first winter signing for Real Madrid has arrived, and even if it is not the top-caliber signing fans had been expecting, Brahim Díaz's energy during the unveiling ceremony will surely be appreciated by the team's supporters in the current turmoil Los Blancos are experiencing right now.

The footballer admitted that negotiations had been going on for quite some time and stated that there was never a doubt in his mind about where he needed to go when he was given the chance to leave Manchester City.

"I always contemplated three options: Real Madrid, Real Madrid and Real Madrid. I did not want to keep on playing elsewhere. This is the greatest day of my life, I'm here to earn a spot in the team's lineup. I am positive that hard work and dedication will be enough to see me making history here," Díaz said.

Asked about the team's current woes, the 19-year old was full of praise for his team-mates.

"The team's current situation is this: they have won four out of the last five UEFA Champions League titles. You have to recognize the quality these players have shown throughout the years," the player added.

After making himself available for the Copa del Rey clash scheduled to be played this week, Díaz thanked Manchester City for paving the way for this transfer.

"I'm really grateful with Manchester City, they gave me a chance to blossom and they made it easy for me to join Real Madrid. Now that I'm here, I can't wait to start playing," Díaz concluded.

The playmaker signed a six-year deal with Los Blancos before the press conference was held. Real Madrid paid Manchester City just over $17M to make the deal happen during the current transfer window, but a clause in the player's contract caught the eye of those interested, since it prevents a further transfer to the Citizens' bitter rival, Manchester United.
